Everybody knows: the Indianapolis Colts suck. When the Colts drafted Andrew Luck in 2012, everyone hoped that from then on, the Colts would have plenty of Luck. That was not the case.
Every year the goal of the team is to draft players who will protect Luck and not get him hurt. We can all see how great that worked out as Luck is out for the first couple of games due to a shoulder injury this year. While he is out, Scott Tolzien and Jacoby Brissett will battle for the helm.
The Colts had a very unimpressive year last year as they went 8-8 and did not make the playoffs for the second straight year. It looks like that might be the case this year as the Colts lost their first game of the regular season against the Los Angeles Rams with a score of 46-9 and then fell in overtime at home to the Cardinals.
Tolzien, in his first NFL game, threw two pick sixes and was sacked four times for a loss. The Colts only managed to get in the end zone once, while the Rams reached the endzone four times.
In the loss to Arizona, the Colts looked to have control of the game, but allowed the Cardinals to come back and force overtime, where Brissett threw a crucial interception to lead to an Arizona score.
While it is easy to say the Colts are just awful, they have made great strides. Luck is becoming one of the most popular quarterbacks in the league, they have great wide receivers, and they are slowly getting to where they need to be.
But for now, 0-2 isn’t very lucky.
