Spring of 2023 is on its way, and that means the baseball season is swinging back into action. 

Even though the success of last year will be hard to repeat after losing some key players, there is still a lot to be excited about.  

Seniors MaKye Tharp and Dyson Adkins will be returning this year, along with juniors Logan Gibbs, Evan Lanphier, Jonas Johnson and Carson Bassett., who are expected to be strong assets for the team.

Adkins said, “This season I’m hoping for another great season and hopefully getting back-to-back sectional championships.”

The team has many different players that play various positions very well, along with a strong bullpen. 

The team returns some strong hitters and are adding speed to the team with runners who are able to do some creative stuff on the bases. 

Coach Foster said, “ The obvious goal is a state title, but getting to regionals and winning, that would be a huge step in our program and strides towards that overall goal.”

The team has a few big games that they are looking out for, like playing (#2 in 3A) Western HS and Hagerstown in the last weekend of the year. 

Coach Foster said, “These are all teams that we haven’t played before so it’s good to be able to see someone different but it is also a very good programs with lots of success in their past.”
