The Lady Cadets soccer team has had a building year under the new leadership of coach Michael Dorsey. They struggled with poor weather at the start of the season, but managed to get things going in the right direction with three wins in a row.

The first game of the season was against Southmont, and even though freshman Tiffany Lane had 11 saves during her first time out as goalie, they lost with a score of 5-2.
The girls struggled for several games after the initial loss.

“The downside of this season has been injuries. At one point, nine of 14 people had injuries,” said coach Dorsey.

The team is making a comeback toward the end of the season and was able to defeat Owen Valley on home turf, quickly followed by a win over Northview.

“With 15 girls improving every game, next season is looking promising,” said senior captain, Corynn Engel.

The girls have their first sectional game this week against a very good Tri-West team. No matter the outcome, the sky is the limit for the future of the program.
