On the soccer field, the star attacker just wrapped up one of the best high school careers in Cascade history But he is not done quite yet.
Senior Lane Trump is looking to continue his dominance at Franklin College. Trump is expected to carry out his clinical play and his winning mentality. He’s coming off a scorching hot senior season bagging 19 goals and serving up a school record of 29 assists in a season. This assist count was enough to lead the state in assists for high school soccer, and the 25th most assists in the country in the 2024-2025 fall season.
Trump had an outstanding senior season but his impact on this team over his high school career cannot be understated
He was a 4 year varsity starter for the team and achieved three sectional titles, one regional title, and an Indy Star player of the week nod. Trump tallied an impressive 37 goals and 44 assists with his assists total being the school record for most in Cascade soccer history, and his goal count ranking 5th in school history.
Trump has had some great times at CHS. “My favorite memory of high school soccer was winning sectionals against Danville last minute.” Trump put it all on the line in that match and showed off his true passion for the game. He sets big goals for himself and he continues to do so in his college career.
Trump said, “I want to continue to be a successful student athlete on and off the field and I will fight to get playing time and be a part of the team while also working hard academically to find a career that suits me and go for it.” The star player is able to find a good balance in his academics and athletics while he maintains high grades and is looking to keep the trend going. “Franklin College will be getting a hardworking player that will put the time in everyday. They will get someone willing to learn and make mistakes in order to get better and grow,” said Trump.
Through all the ups and downs in his high school career, he has always put on a show on the field and plays the game tremendously. His skillful style has earned him so much respect from teammates, coaches, fans and he will continue to work hard in College. Franklin College will be getting a masterclass player out of Trump.
