Ambriella Corbin has been a Cadet since her junior year and has loved the last two years of her high school experience. She said she has had many amazing memories in just the two short years she has spent at CHS. “I loved going to the Friday night lights football games with friends and I loved to go and help the elementary kids learn. I also like to have a chance to make even a small difference in a kid’s life every single day,” she said.
Even though she has only been at Cascade for two years, one teacher has had a huge impact. “Mr.Puckett is the perfect balance between being a mentor and someone you can confide in. He is always there to guide me academically and also offer a friendly ear.”
Ambriella will attend IU of Indianapolis this fall. She plans to major in sonography while working and doing an internship at one of the local hospitals. On campus she wants to try new clubs or extracurricular activities.
Corbin has had her highs and lows with high school but it has all turned out to be a great life lesson.; one she shares with others. “The tough times teach you resilience and the good times show you what truly matters. Always know that every experience, good or bad, is shaping you into the best version of yourself. Really treasure the years you have left because it’s so true when people say how fast it goes. But as long as you allow yourself to experience it in the best way, high school will be something you will look back at for great memories.”
Ambrie has made so many new friends and met lots of new people, and that is what she will miss most about high school. “High school has been my world for the past four years and there is a part of me that clings to the familiarity, the routines, and the people I’ve shared it with. But under all of that, there is a lot of excitement. It’s scary to think about having to step out of my comfort zone but the thought of independence and the freedom to make my own path is such a blessing.”
