When it comes to people at Cascade, there aren’t many who don’t know of the amazing Matt Anderson.
Mr. Anderson can always be seen wearing a contagious smile that reflects his enjoyment here at Cascade. The friends Anderson has made of fellow employees and the great students he teaches have made teaching at Cascade fantastic.
According to Anderson, “Teachers here genuinely want to see students succeed and are not just in it for a paycheck.”
Out of all the schools Anderson has taught at, he loves Cascade the most, but before he became a teacher, Mr. Anderson shared interest in other fun careers.
In Anderson’s early days as a young lad, he thought he would become a farmer. As time went on and Anderson grew up older, he wanted to become a hockey player and later in college a cartoonist. But above all these careers Anderson chose to switch to education whilst still in college and became the teacher we know and love today.
Outside of school, Anderson loves to spend time with his family. One of his favorite things to do with them is to play with his two kids. He also really enjoys playing video games, watching sports and collecting different sports cards.
When he is with others, he likes to play all different types of board games or really any type of sport. He also loves to cook up good food.
Anderson’s advice to students is, “Every time you point a finger at someone or something, remember there are three fingers pointing back at you.”
Whether he is playing cornhole during passing periods or chasing mice, one thing in clear; Mr. Anderson embodies what it means to be a Cadet.
