The Cascade Cadets are looking to baseball season with a diamond on the mound.
Left-handed pitching ace, Noah Dasgupta is preparing to continue his dominance in the upcoming spring season. In this, his junior year, Dasgupta is expected to continue his starring role as pitcher and fill in at first base.
Dasgupta is coming off a very strong sophomore season, touting an earned run average of 2.84 while striking out 70 batters on the year. He expects another big season and has personal goals of 100+ strikeouts and a lower ERA.
Dasgupta knows he will have to fill a bigger role with some key players lost to graduation. “Those guys were the heart and soul of our team. They helped me and I learned so much from guys like Evan (Lanphier) and Logan (Gibbs) teaching me how to play high school baseball and I feel it will be tough to fill the void of those guys.,” he said.
When asked what games he is looking most forward to this season, Dasgupta replied with, “Mooresville, Plainfield and University because that is the best competition we will play. They have D1 recruits and to be the best you have to beat the best, which is what I plan to do.”
Dasgupta’s love for the game is clear. He has been playing since he was just 5 years old and plans to pursue his baseball career after high school as well.
“I feel to play at any D1 college is a privilege, but I really like campuses like Cincinnati, Purdue and Tennessee.”
The junior is going back to his roots and changing his number back to 24. which he wore growing up. He said, “I’ve been 24 my whole life and to get it back in high school means so much to me. Ken Griffey Jr. is my favorite player and has meant so much to me so I am proud to wear his number.”
With the season just around the corner, it is time for this budding star to shine and to help lead his team to success.
