Double D’s BBQ in Clayton showcases delicious ribs and Memphis style BBQ that truly sets them apart from the competition. This family owned business has drawn attention from BBQ lovers and foodies across the county. In fact, they have been awarded “best ribs” at the Hendricks County Rib Fest for the past two years.
According to Garrett Duncan, CHS grad nd son of the co-owners Dennis and Tina, “We have a reputation for having really good ribs,” as well as, “loaded nachos with chips or French fries.”
I personally tried their loaded nachos with French fries. They came with pork, queso, and a plethora of toppings. These included gooey cheese, lettuce, sour cream, jalapenos, tomato, and onions. This distinctive mix of toppings worked together simultaneously to create a delicious plate.
The amount of food in one serving was also well worth the cost, and would probably be enough to serve at least two people. Double D’s menu had so many unique and delicious ways to enjoy their top tier meat, which is the highlight of every meal they offer. You can see your food being made with the cafeteria style restaurant, and they have a large variety of sauces to choose from.
Double D’ is an excellent place for CHS teens searching for a reliable place to work nearby. For those under the age of 18, dishwashers and frontline workers of their cafeteria style restaurant are needed. Students over the age of 18 who enjoy cooking and preparing food can work with the meat and their smoker/fryers. Several CHS students including Eli Gilley, Marcus Hobson, Brady Trebley and Kyler Effner have already secured jobs there.
Whether you are looking for a secure job, or just a new restaurant to try, Double Ds is an excellent restaurant that is reliable and committed to quality.
“It’s traditional Memphis barbeque, we do things right, we keep things fresh,” said Garrett Duncan.
