It’s no secret that when it comes to video games, there’s one that stands out from the rest. One game that’s still massive is Fortnite.
This institution has been one of the most popular video games in the world since it’s release back in 2017, with fantastic gameplay, updates and events drawing in all 650 million of its registered players.
The game started off as a simple battle royale where 100 players competed to come up on top. But with updates have come new twists on the game with new game modes and collaborations such as Fortnite Reload, Lego Fortnite and most recently Ballistic.
Last year when Fortnite made the OG game mode, the excitement exploding, breaking the records of most people playing a video game at a single time.
Then they brought the mode back in November of 2024 for chapter 2 season 2. It was still a big hi, but as this mode was released the player count began to fade lower and lower because this is not what the players wanted.
Epic games made a choice of giving the fans what they wanted and made OG a permanent mode. This new update will bring us into chapter 1 season 2 with some great new additions like the fan favorite Tilled Towers, Shifty Shafts, and Junk Junction. There will also be new items like mini shield potions and ice gadgets to mix up game play.
The newest game mode, Ballistic, introduced in Chapter 6, takes inspiration from other game, but is the first of its kind when it comes to Fortnite. It’s a first person 5v5 that’s been compared and is similar to other liked games such as Counter-Strike and Valorant.
Chapter 6 has brought more than the new game mode as the battle royale game this season introduces a Japanese style map and a similarly styled battle pass and events to go with it. Baymax caught a lot of attention in the battle pass, but even more attention was raised for another skin.
Fortnite has done an incredible job keeping their game interesting for OGs and new players alike So many fans are looking forward to what they have in store in the future.
