Cascade high school staff and students just finished another homecoming week that included games, activities, dress up days and the crowning of their homecoming court. This is the second homecoming of the year and games that were included were done during a 20 minute SLC class time and consisted of a grab the cup, musical chairs, hula hoop fit through, scooter relay race, cup flip, dodgeball and at the end of the day on friday there was a pep session. The pep session had more fun activities and games which consisted of tug of war, pop the balloon, school song competition, rock, paper, scissors necklace competition and the principal Jeff Hansel and assistant principal Lori White drinking mystery smoothies in helping raise money for riley.
The yearly homecoming dance took place on Friday January 24th and it consisted of snacks, drinks, glow bracelets, glow in the dark tattoos, a live DJ, and two photobooths. After all that fun excitement on Saturday January 25th was CHS homecoming game vs Greencastle High school. While both teams played really well the Cascade Cadets ultimately won the game. At halftime of the Varsity game the homecoming court was announced. Each grade had one prince nominated for who they wanted to win and the seniors had their King and Queen nominees. Cooper Munt won prince for the freshman, Aiden Ridenour won prince for Sophomores, Brady Trebley won prince for the juniors and finally Brady Biekes, and Mira Miles won King and Queen for the seniors.
As the fun has died down Cascade looks forward to moving onto their next big event of the year which is prom. As this homecoming was filled with a week of fun they will move onto the fall homecoming in September with more fun filled activities, dress up days, competitions, the court and of course the dance. No matter how you choose to celebrate your school’s homecoming, at least take some time to appreciate all the things that happen around you and that happen to you during this time. Happy Homecoming!
