This school year, students and teachers are thrilled to welcome an addition to Cascade’s staff.
Mr. Jordan Nelson, the new Spanish teacher, has been working hard during the first few weeks of school. Having previously worked at Crawfordsville Middle School and Brownsburg High School, Nelson brings a lot of experience.
After graduating from Plainfield High School, Nelson continued his education at Illinois College before earning his degree at the University of Indianapolis. His long journey of education has given him the skills he needs, and he is very excited to share it with his students.
Nelson isn’t only passionate about teaching Spanish though. He also connects with his students by being an active part of the Cascade community.
“I enjoy that Cascade feels like a family,” said Nelson.
His positive impact on both students and other teachers are a clear sign of the enthusiasm he has for the school and the kids he teaches.
Outside of school, Nelson has hobbies such as coaching and playing soccer, which he played in college. He now plays recreationally and is teammates with Mr. Moeller
.
“He is a great guy, really passionate about soccer and coaching,” said Moeller.
Nelson loves listening to music, with his favorite artist being Taylor Swift. He also loves to travel.
As Nelson settles into his new role, his commitment to both teaching and his students is making a big difference at Cascade. His ranging interests and unique background make a strong impact and it’s no surprise that he’s making a positive difference wherever he goes.
