Fortnite, a game played all over the world by millions of people, including adults and children, is new once again.
This game originally came out in July of 2017. Initially only the “save the world” mode was available before the company released the “battle royale” mode 2 months later.
This mode consisted of 100 players, a wide map, a variety of weapons with different rarities and healables for both health and shield. The goal during this was to open chests, build, edit and battle people to the end to get a victory royal.
Fortnite was made by Epic Games, who released this game free to play on every platform and console. Within just a year the company made more the 5 billion dollars and the next three years made a combined 14.6 billion dollars.
Though it took off and had a lot of success, like many games it had bad times. This game has different seasons, with different maps and themes. Today there are a total of 31 seasons.
The current season is Chapter 5, Season 4. This season is a superhero theme, once again, with similar weapons to the last season. It has brought some success, but not as good as some previous seasons.
Epic Games released an OG season about six months ago that brought millions of people back to the game. Now they have confirmed that they will bring back something similar. This time though, it is chapter 2 and they can expect a lot of people to come back online.
Fortnite has brought a lot of people wealth and established their careers. There have been a lot of people that have made millions of dollars just streaming and making videos of them playing the game for people to watch. Some big names within the game are Ninja, Myth, Daequan and even just a teenager named Bugha, who had his life changed after winning one million dollars, in a tournament named the World Cup.
According to one student at Cascade High School, “The nostalgia of all old Fortnite reminds me of a time when we had little problems and my biggest concern was getting a dub.”
