Coming off a solid season of 7-6-1, the Cascade girls soccer team is ready to have another successful year with a strong core of returning seniors.
The team is frontlined by returning seniors Anna Burns and Ava Allen. Other returning seniors include Alexa Rodriguez, Taylor Trusty, Caitlyn Russell and Trinity Reitzel.
Younger players who are looking to make an impact include sophomores Evelyn Bolligner and Sophia Adams, Autumn Chattin and freshman Regan Franklin.
Burns, who led the team last year in goals will try to control the offensive game while Trusty, Russell and junior McKenna Potters will help control the defense. In the goal there will be a change in scenery with new senior Amber Culp stepping up to play goalie.
Allen has high expectations for this upcoming season, saying, “I’m excited to see how our team improves throughout the season.”
Star senior Burns also has lots of goals going into her final year. “I feel that my role for this upcoming season is to help lead the team and make the girls better with each other and at soccer. I want to create a good environment where we can all have fun while also learning how to compete and win,” she said.
This is shaping up to be a great season for the Cadets with, starting leadership and work ethic on the team.
“The goal for this season is to play our hardest and come out with another win in sectionals.” said Burns.
