It’s that time of year again…Prom is just around the corner!
This is the time of year that every junior and senior looks forward to the most during their last few years of school.
The 2024 Cascade High School Prom is going to be held at the newly renovated Butterfly Garden at the Indianapolis Zoo. Students will have access to a beautiful outdoor space with arches, paths and amazing flowers.
The outside portion of the Prom will be open though sunset and the rest of the party will be held inside with great music from DJ Finn, food, drinks, seating and a separate room with a view of the Indianapolis skyline, which will be the selling point when the sun goes down.
The CHS tradition of prom preview is what ties everything together for the upcoming event. This showcases songs that could be played at prom and teachers making fools of themselves to illustrate that it doesn’t take much to have a great time.
CHS students can also enjoy Post Prom at SkyZone in Plainfield from 11:30pm-1:30am. Students can enjoy playing games, jumping on the trampolines and so much more. Post Prom is a great way for the students to continue the fun after a formal event like prom.
Formal events like prom cost a lot of money. Junior Taylor Trusty bought a vintage dress from her aunt and her date bought his suit from a tux shop for $400. She bought heels and Converse for and spent a total of $100. After cl0thing, shoes and tickets, the total cost is pretty high, even before dinner.
But it’s all worth it. Prom is a rite of passage and should be enjoyed by all.
