The Cascade Drama Club has done it again.
This thriving group of thespians just ended their season with “Catch Me if You Can,” a show full of mystery and misdirection.
This is the story of one Frank William Abagnale Jr., if that is the name he’s going by at that given time. The musical follows him throughout his escapades as a pilot, doctor, lawyer and international criminal.
Through all, he is relentlessly pursued by Carl Hanratty, the FBI agent in charge of bringing him to justice.
This musical featured a truly star-studded cast of veteran CHS performers, including seniors Justus Palumbo as Frank Jr. and John Reach as Carl Hanratty forming a slapstick duo who anchored the plot.
Freshman sensation Elijah Brooks played Frank Sr., junior Kyler Effner was the love interest, Brenda Strong and senior Megan Fox starried as Frank’s mother, Paula Abagnale.
The club performed a total of four shows to large crowds who were pleasantly pleased at the singing, choreography and amazing acting talents.
According to musical director, Preston Shafer, “This musical was a labor of love which the cast, crew and directors poured their hearts and souls into.”
As the curtain closes for seniors, one thing is certain; the CHS drama club has built a reputation that will be recognized for years to come.
