Cascade has been very fortunate to have such a great teacher like Mrs. Scharrer for the past 30 years. She is primarily a French teacher, but she now teaches World Language to the 8th graders in the PCC rotation.
After attending Whiteland High School, Scharrer went to college at Indiana State, as well as IUPUI.
Not only is Mrs. Scharrer a great teacher here at CHS, she is also a fantastic mother. She says that teaching relates to raising kids by using skills such as patience and organization.
Scharrer realized she wanted to be a French teacher to share her passion for the language and culture for those who want to learn about it. Now, 30 years later, she is still doing what she loves at a school that loves having her.
Being at a small school has its advantages and disadvantages, but for Scharrer, she believes that there are more good things.
When asked about what she likes about our school, Scharrer said, “I like Cascade because it is a small school in a small community in which I live. It feels like we are a family since we all know one another.”
Anybody who knows Mrs. Scharrer knows she loves her dogs. Her favorite breed is Rough Collies, and that is the reason she has two, Sadie and Stella. She also has a Shih Tzu named Kasey.
Cascade is very lucky to have such a great teacher and person like Mrs. Scharrer.
