Another new teacher means another club.
Cascade High School now has an art club for anyone to join and show off their art skills. Sponsor, Mrs. Morris, said the main reason for starting the art club was simple.
“I started this because a few students continued to ask me to start it and I loved their excitement. I also wanted to start the club because I believe extracurricular activities are really important to be successful in high school and I am really excited to give students a chance to be creative and make friends outside of a graded classroom setting.”
Any student can join the club, which meets after school on Thursdays. It is a great place to be yourself and express how your feelings through painting, drawing and more. Something that you can realize in the art club is how much you actually like to draw or paint.
“So far with there have been over 20 students at each meeting,” said Morris.” Anything you’ve wondered about art or anything related to it, the art club is the perfect place for you to get those questions answered or to learn about them.
From designing and decorating T-shirts to painting pumpkins for Halloween, the art club is ready to get in gear with more difficult work and learn about different styles of art and how to use them properly in any art based work.
Senior, Margaret Holtsclaw said, “The art club has a great vibe that I just love and I love Mrs. Morris because she’s kind and fun to be around. Art is my creative outlet. so having this club makes me happy.”
