Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Pugh

Drake Dodson, Staff

With the new school year starting, the CHS family has added a couple of new faces.

One of those is an addition to the special education department; Mrs.Pugh.

After getting her undergraduate degree at Indiana State University, Pugh got her administrative license at Butler University.

She then began her teaching career at schools like Ben Davis, Kingsway and  Herron High School.

At Ben Davis and Herron, she worked in the special education departments, while she was the librarian, NJHS sponsor and event coordinator at Kingsway.

All of this hard work and experience make her a great fit at Cascade.

While not working, Pugh has a full life. She has an amazing family that consists of three children and her husband.

Pugh says she met her husband in a very unique and different way.

“24 years ago, I went on the best blind date of my life,” stated Pugh. “We now have three super amazing children.”

Her oldest child is Darien, a 2021 CHS grad. He is now a student athlete at Indiana Wesleyan University on a pre-med track and playing baseball.  She also has two other children.

Besides school and family, Pugh has a lot of hobbies and interests. She likes to spend time watching many different sports such as baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. She also really enjoys watching movies and playing board games.

With all of her great experiences, and her great family mentality, she is sure to be a great fit.  Welcome.
