Lady Cadets plan huge comeback season
August 16, 2019
The Cadet volleyball team is hoping to have a great upcoming season. With four seniors and a new head coach, the team is looking bright and hoping for a turnaround.
The Cadets played in a varsity league at Capitol Sports and improved very much in the process. They played against very tough competition and did not back down from anyone.
Head coach Stacey Minardo believes that the Cadet team also improved very much this summer working out on their individual skills, such as hitting, passing and setting. Their skills aren’t going to be the only thing helping them on the court.
Minardo says, “The seniors will play a huge role in the success of the volleyball team. They are the strongest leaders we have, on and off the court.”
The team is depending on more than just seniors though, as returning players includes sophomore Josie Jones, who played a huge role for the Cadets last year leading them in kills with 137. Another player returning for the Cadets is junior Madi Mayes who is the “libero” and also led the team in digs last season.
Make sure to come out to support the Cadet volleyball team as they take on a new season. They have a bunch of talent on their team and now they are hoping to use that talent on the court and come out with a winning season.
