High school has flown by and it’s finally senior year and I know I have a lot of work to do.
Senior year may seem easy but there is so much that needs to be accomplished. I haven’t really even begun to start working on exactly where I want to go when I graduate. Being a senior is extremely weird because I have seen multiple senior classes graduate and now it’s my turn and it’s really crazy to think that next year I will be out on my own as an adult.
During this first semester I really want to go all out and apply for the colleges that interest me and just enjoy the wild ride that this senior year will bring.
I am a big participator in the performing arts field and that is what I spend most of my time doing. This year we are doing “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic” for the Drama Club play and we are going to be doing “Catch Me If You Can” for the spring musical in April of next year.
This year for the drama department is going to be an eventful one and I can’t wait to be a part of it all. Last year I was chosen to be the Drama Club President and it was an absolute honor. I get the opportunity to lead and help doing what I love and what fellow students love as well.
Something different that is happening this year is we are going to compete with a piece called “Stressed” for the International Thespian Society and hopefully make it to state in January.
There is lots going on and I really want to do as much as I can for this last year at Cascade. The theater program here is so important to me because it has really opened my eyes to what I can do and has helped lead me to the path I am on now. I cannot wait for the experiences that are in store.
When it comes to academics, this year I really want to make sure I am on top of it. I have noticed that in past years I can get sidetracked easily, but this year my goal is to maintain the best grades possible.
I really want to pursue stage, voice or film acting as my career one day and am going to strive for the best year academically to have the chance to get into the colleges that support my interest the best.
My main goal is to get into New York University and enroll in their theater program as well as audition for jobs in New York at the same time. It is an extremely big goal and I know I will really have to work this school year to accomplish it but let’s hope for the best. I am taking most of the IVY Tech classes this year to get lots of college credit to help me out in the near college future.
It honestly still hasn’t clicked just yet that I am a senior in high school but it sure will soon. With all that is coming up this year I can really go all out and enjoy every last minute of what I can during this last year. Although this year is going to fly by, my goal is to end the year strong so I can proudly walk across the stage and grab that diploma.
