Cascade High School student Garrett Duncan, is only 15 years old and is out performing many with his great aim.

Duncan has been shooting skeet for a little more than a year and has participated in many competitions for the Hoosier Daddy’s Shooting Team.

He practices at Camp Atterbury as well as in his own backyard.

“I really liked shooting guns, and one day we just grabbed a shotgun, a box of clays, a couple of hand throwers and went out back,” says Duncan.

The freshman has participated in several competitions, including the 2016 Indiana SCTP competition in Warsaw, Indiana. He placed third out of 13 and scored an 80 out of 100. Garrett also competed in a national competition in Marengo, Ohio, placing 19th out of 64 with a score of 171 out of 200.

Practice comes with reaching goals and accomplishing major marks. Duncan has hit 25 targets in a row, twice now, as well as placing higher than any other competitor in Indiana at the national competition.

Duncan plans on dominating International Skeet and reaching his all time goal of competing at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Duncan’s coach, Nick Mason, states that he has been putting in a lot of time and effort into this sport to be able to compete at such a high level.
